"As my human hand joins to the wood of this puppet, my soul gives life to the puppet and in this transformation of an object from death to life is a rather mysterious poetic act."-Brazilian Puppet Master  The Puppetry Arts studio is dedicated to keeping the ancient artform of puppet and mask theater alive in a modern context. We employ lively, provocative and unusual techniques in a blend of bunraku, string, shadow, rod, larger than life puppets, and masks of many varieties. Our work ranges in size from the one artist show to a full company production. We also create community pageants, circuses and parades with as many 200 performers. While most of our pieces are entertaining and thought provoking for adults and children alike, a great deal of our work is made expressly for adult audiences. We also offer classes and workshops, residencies and touring shows. Currently we are transforming our studio into an epic, multi-layered production, "Serpent of a Thousand Coils".
